Watershed Pastoral Direction
The goal of pastoral direction is to help an individual think wholistically about their current challenges in a caring, safe and confidential environment. In the context of acceptance and understanding, our desire is to position you to get reconnected to self, God and your most valuable relationships through a variety of resources listed below.
We would love to come alongside you in your journey towards healing and wholeness.
Tim has his Masters in Theology and his Bachelors in Pastoral Care. He specializes in inner healing, spiritual direction, crisis management and personality identification. He has 15 years of pastoral care experience and is trained in Strengthsfinder, Enneagram and formational prayer.
Emilie is a Columbus area native. She has her Masters in Clinical Counseling, is trained in formational prayer and SOZO and has ten years of individual and group counseling experience.
WHAT PRACTICES ARE PART OF PASTORAL DIRECTION?
This experience will appear most like a traditional counselor/client relationship. The goal is to create a client-centered, acceptance-oriented environment where the client gains support, skills & resources for their life & relationships.
We recommend a commitment of 2-8 sessions.
This experience will be prayer focused with the goal of helping a client be positioned to hear from God in order to break down barriers, obstacles & strongholds that are keeping a client from experiencing freedom & wholeness. Tools from practices such as SOZO and formational prayer will be used in these sessions.
We recommend a commitment of 1-3 times a year.
This experience will be talk-oriented with two committed partners. The goal is for all parties to work towards awareness, understanding & connection in the context of their relationship. Pre-marital counseling falls under this category. Clients have the option to meet with one member or of our team or both Tim & Emilie for joint sessions.
We recommend a commitment of 2-12 sessions.
This experience will be practice & discipline oriented. The goal is for the client to become connected with themselves & God's presence as they are led through spiritual disciplines (such as centering prayer, the Enneagram and lectio divina).
We recommend a commitment of one session a month for the span of a year.
The recommendations for number of sessions are meant to guide but not be restrictive. We can tailor a plan to your needs.
Pastoral Direction is not clinical counseling. Should you need clinical care, our team can refer you to professionals in the area.
